A TOLERANT CHRISTIANITY?

More and more, we hear the only acceptable religion is the tolerant religion.   We hear that Christians that speak in definites are not real Christians and that Jesus Christ accepted people as they were.   The implication–no the outright claim is “the only thing really wrong is to claim something is wrong and the only right is to deny that there is an absolute right.”   Any judgement is claimed to be narrow and bigoted.  Judgement, itself, is the greatest of sins.  You know, the world should be crying out “Don’t judge me!”  Christ, though, was not tolerant.  Christ was and is demanding of certain standards and he gave His followers any right to start off with the weak-kneed introduction “I’m not trying to judge you”.

Let me start with another ode

ODE TO THE APPROVED GOD

I will sing to the god of my approval.   The god who will wait for my OK-      before he would demand or suggest anything, whether it be go or stay.

He will always–always guarantee my sacrifices are reasonable to me–        that I shall see immediately a reward for my efforts and deeds.

Loneliness, suffering, sacrifice and thanklessness are never suffered by those that worship   the god of my approval–a  god of esteem                                    a god who always gives authority and ownership.

I need not approve the God of fools–the God that demands first we die.             I Will not prise a God with mysterious tools that cannot be predicted by us who sigh  

for the earthly recompense with the an automatic heaven–costless, painless, poverty-less, cross-less.                                                                                  Sing with me the ode to my approved god.                                                

Society will praise you–Friends will surround you. How could any true God deny you 

 If you should find no cross that fits you?

    People want now, as they always have, to think tht they are the fit judge for what life should be and how it should be lived.  The truth is that God did not make us adequate to this task.  He warns in Jerimiah 10:23 of the bible that It is “not in man that walks to direct his steps”.  The truth is that man can search and search in himself for answers, but they will not be there.   Man is dependent on the outside revelation from the God of heaven for what is right. 

   What has happened, now that we are relying more on our own “revelations”?  We disguise reality by misnaming reality.    We call a very sad situation, “gay”.  If that lifestyle is so “gay” , why does it not last a lifetime like marriage.  K.T. Lang , the Canadian singer was speaking of her homo-sexual relationship lasting for 7 years and stated, ‘Seven years in gay years is like a lifetime in straight years.”  Why should that be?  Because God in His infinite mercy and grace is giving another witness to they world that His ways always trump the ways of the world.  Of course, straight marriages fail, but that is the fault of the people in them.  Whether admitted or not,  straight marriages are the only ones with a proven track record.

   What else has tolerance done.  Now celebrities feel free to boast and post stories about making bastard babies, instead of making the effort of providing honor for the baby that is coming in the world.  (You may be offended at the word bastard.  I would not consider any baby illegitimate, but my definition of a bastard is a child with illegitimate parents, or a child with a father who does not love them enough to claim them.  If you don’t like this–tuff–deal with it.)  It is not honorable to be dating, engaged to, or living with the mother or father of your baby.  Honor only comes in marriage and, again, the world disguises the shame.   Because there may be a ring, we pretend that the ring cannot be returned.  We pretend that a common law mate cannot just walk out.  We pretend that no commitment cock dealt out is romantic.  WAKE UP GAL!  The commitment is imaginary.  The truly committed do not need a pussy approval, before a woman is claimed.  Hey man!  Manhood is not really measured in the size of your dick or the number of hits you can claim.

   Today’s people are so stupid they do not even count a sobering fact advertised on T.V..  “One in Five!”  The claim in the ad is that one in five Americans has genital herpes and a higher rate of our high school and younger girls have other venereal disease, and still people will claim their is not a real need for an alarm to go out! 

    There are things that are right and cannot be wrong.  In the Bible, Hebrews 13:4 tells us marriage is honorable and the wedding bed undefiled.  Yes, there have been faithful mates betrayed and infected with v.d..  Yes, our society has become cowardly enough that marriages often fail (though not nearly so much as shack-up situations or marriages that follow a shack-up situations), but no honest person can deny that when marriage is observed as it should be (in a loving and true relationship) honor brings many rewards that are denied the dishonorable and cowardly.
